According to The Hindustan Times, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (LMC), Punjab, is proceeding with plans to build a biogas plant in the city. The plans were approved several years ago, but have not been pursued any further. The MLC now asked the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) to identify a location for the plant. It should process dairy waste from farmers, which is currently often being dumped into the Buddha Nulla river. However, no technical details were provided by the source.
