Mangaluru reduces SWM user fee

The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) council has decided to reduce the solid waste management user fee. For properties up to 500 sq ft built-up area, the user fee of Rs 50 per month has been reduced to Rs 30.

The fee for properties from 501 sq ft to 1,000 sq ft has been reduced from Rs 75 to Rs 60. For properties from 1,001 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft, the fee has been reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 80.

This was the first meeting of the MCC Council held nine months after the election. The council also resolved to reduce the drinking water tariff, reports The Times of India.
