According to The Eastern Mirror, the state government of Manipur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with company IEC-TSL Ingenious Energy LLP on setting up a WtE unit at an existing waste management site in Imphal, the state capital. The project should be developed as a PPP scheme. Apparently, the WtE facility should treat non-compostable waste and have a generation rate of 1 MW per 60 tons of waste treated. However, no information on treatment capacity was included in the source. Waste generation in Imphal was said to amount to around 100 tpd.
