The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has selected a new operator for its Sheeshambada solid waste management and recycling plant in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The new operator will be an agency from Bhopal.

The facility is currently managed by Re Sustainability (formerly Ramky Enviro Engineers, REEL). Moreover, a new agency was also announced on 13 November 2022, to carry out door-to-door garbage collection services in 47 out of 100 wards, as stated in the report.

The new appointments were made against the backdrop that in August 2022, Re Sustainability issued a notice to the MCD that it will discontinue its sanitation projects in Dehradun, stating irregular payments from MCD. Re Sustainability was scheduled to be relieved from its duties already on 30 October 2022.
