Mumbai’s JNPT gets new SWM plant

A Comprehensive Solid Waste Management plant has been inaugurated at the expansive Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) Township in Mumbai.

The newly inaugurated, 10 MT/Day SWM plant is designed as per SWM Rules 2016 based on BARC technology. It is designed as a biogas plant for 5 MT/Day capacity with power generation from biogas and production of biogas and generation power setup, reports Orissa Diary.

The plant includes the installation of a hydraulic baling press machine to compress dry waste, provision of two ghanta gadis with separate sections for wet and dry waste separately, and IEC campaigns for the township residents.
