A Covid Care Centre (CCC) in Mysuru has set up compost pits (pic) to recycle food waste at the centre. The CCC at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) near the Mandakalli airport is run by the state government. As many as 503 covid patients are being treated here.
Two pits have been created inside its premises to ensure that the food waste does not go completely to waste. The centre has also requested the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to provide it with vehicles for disposal of food waste. The MCC has assured that vehicles would be provided every alternate days from next week, reports The Times of India. The centre plans to use the compost for horticulture later.
