The Navi Mumbai municipal commissioner Rajesh Narvekar inspected the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Treatment Project in Turbhe and directed the Solid Waste Management (SWM) department to make the project fully operational at the earliest.

A telephone number, 8898017009, has been supplied by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation for the transportation of C&D waste to the Turbhe processing facility, which is maintained by the local government. At a minimal cost, residents can use this number for the cheap removal of building debris from the site.

The commissioner noted, however, that many residents or developers dump waste along highways at night. He added that two debris-loading teams are keeping a watchful eye on the open spaces in the city to prevent unauthorized dumping of debris, reports Free Press Journal.
