New biogas plant proposed in Coimbatore

The Coimbatore Municipal Corporation has plans to establish a new biogas plant in the Vellalore dump yard in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The proposed plant should have a capacity of 100 tpd to generate biogas that should either be sold or used by the City Council.

According to senior officials of the company, the cost factor for the biogas plant is currently being worked out and a cost estimate will soon be prepared and submitted to the government for approval. Further information was not disclosed in the report.
