The municipal corporations of Bhalswa, Ghazipur and Okhla in Delhi have begun the processing of waste at the three local landfills. All of them are severely overfilled. Through bio-mining processes, the waste will be sorted into construction and demolition waste as well as refuse-derived fuel. Officials of the municipality stated the RDF will be co-incinerated in Waste-to-Energy plants and cement kilns. According to the source (The Times of India), at the Bhalswa landfill, 2,700 tpd can be handled through this process, whereas the exact amount at the other sites has not been disclosed.
