New incinerator planned for Vairapalayam

According to The Hindu, following the complete bio-mining of municipal solid waste generated in the past 60 years at the Vairapalayam and Vendipalayam landfills, the civic body is now planning to establish an incinerator machine in Vairapalayam at a cost of INR 150 million. This is planned to prevent further dumping of waste at the sites. The bio-mining work, which is being handled by Zigma Global Environ Solutions, is scheduled to be completed by March 2020.
