New plastic recycling plant installed in Bangalore

Together with Yunus Social Business Fund gGmbH and its subsidiary Cofresco, German retail coffee company Melitta has set up a plastic recycling plant in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The plant is part of an initiative named “Fair Recycled Plastic” and is converting plastic waste into 2,000 tpy of plastic recyclate from LDPE (low-density polyethylene) film waste.

As further stated, the plant is supposed to use feedstock from socially oriented disposal companies. The project receives financial support by the DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, within the framework of the develoPPP programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
