
In a meeting with the Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh, it was decided that a waste-to-energy plant would be set up at the Sugarfed plant in Nakodar by March. According to Tribune India, this would be the first waste-to-energy project in Punjab state. Furthermore, it was also reported that Refuse-derived fuel (RDF) energy plants were under consideration at two more places in the state. The RDF plant will be provided by the A2Z Waste Management (Ludhiana) Limited.
