The Pune Municipal corporation (PMC) plans to resume operations at wet waste biogas plant in Vadgaon Budruk, Pune, Maharashtra. The plant has ceased operations after a rain damage in 2019, according to The Hindustan Times.

As further reported, Mithras Green Technologies is now offering to restart the plant as a pilot project, and increasing its capacity from 10 tpd of 40 tpd of wet waste by using a new technology.

The plant shall now start producing biomass briquettes from garden waste. Prior to this, compositing and bio-CNG were used. According to a PMC official, these technologies were ‘outdated’, as further stated in the source.
