The New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) has started installing smart waste bins in the city. These bins will have Artificial Intelligence-based sensors to alert the authorities once they reach their full capacity.

Around 50 such smart bins are being placed in different places in the township, reports The Times of India.

NTKDA authorities also plan to engage an agency to supply and place about 2,500 wheeled community waste bins across New Town. A tender has been issued seeking 120-litres capacity HDPE wheeled community bins.
