The municipal council of Cuncolim, South Goa, has contracted Pune-based company Sampurn(e)arth Environment Solutions Pvt Ltd for the collection, segregation and treatment of the local waste which includes about 5 tonnes of mixed waste per day. The contract starts at the first of November and includes a monthly payment of RS 200,000 (EUR 2610). According to Sampurn(e)arth, the company also considers the possibility of building a new AD plant for a partial treatment of Cuncolim’s waste. This was reported by The Navhind Times.
