New waste sorting facility in Kadakampally

A new waste sorting and segregation plant is to be set up by the Clean Kerala Company (CKC) in Kadakampally village, Kerala. The plant shall process non-biodegradable waste, in particular plastic waste, as reported by The Times of India.

For doing so, CKC has signed an agreement with the city corporation. The facility has already been equipped with two shredding machines, a baling unit and a dust removing unit. Currently, CKC is awaiting the no-objection certificate (NOC) from the city.

The facility shall also host a filtered ventilation system, air emission control system, as well as devices for automatic sprinklers and control. The source does not provide details on the current time schedule.
