New WtE plant planned for East Delhi

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for the disposal and management of solid waste in its area. According to The Hindu, the NTPC plans to set up a 12 MW integrated waste management plant which will include a WtE plant, a bio-methanation plant, an aerobic composter and a small C&D waste plant to create tiles from fly ash, and can process 2,000 tonnes of waste, by 2021.
