New WtE project planned in Vellalore

According to The Hindu, the National Green Tribunal is planning to set up a new WtE facility in Vellalore, Tamil Nadu. The new plant should have an intake capacity of around 192,000 tpy of waste. The municipal solid waste treated at the envisioned site would be incinerated at 850 degrees Celsius and the electricity generation capacity of the plant would amount to 4 MW in total. The proposed project is now expected to be submitted to the State Government soon.
