NGT imposes fine for rule violation of Brahmapuram MBT project

The MBT project in Brahmapuram was violating the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and therefore the state and Central Pollution Control Board (PCB) have to pay a fine of INR 50 lakhs to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), reported The Times of India. Furthermore, NGT has set a deadline to the developer to finish construction by March 2019. In case of non-compliance with the deadline, the local body has to pay INR 2 lakh per day delayed.
