A team constituted by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) visited the Jhuriwala dumping site in Chandigarh for unscientific waste dumping after the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) pointed out alleged violations by the city’s civic corporation.
The NGT ordered the central and Haryana government to examine the unscientific dumping of waste on the land allotted for a SWM project at Jhuriwala village.
The joint committee included representatives of the Central Pollution Control Board, Haryana Pollution Control Board and chief wildlife warden of Haryana, reports The Times of India.
