The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has formed a committee to monitor solid waste management by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation. It has also sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) from the AMC for the alleged disposal of MSW in an unscientific manner.

The NGT said there have been lapses in controlling foul smell, maintenance of the onsite leachate treatment facility, maintenance of necessary records, and safety of on-site workers. Further, the AMC has failed to deal with the legacy waste at the dumpsite, reports news agency ANI.
