NMC finalises gate fee agreement with WtE developers

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has reached an agreement with project developers Essel Infraprojects and Hitachi Zosen India about the waste gate fees for the proposed Nagpur WtE plant. As said, the plant operator will receive INR 225 (USD 3.3) per ton of waste with a 4.5% increase every year. Originally, the developer consortium requested fees of INR 750, but changed its demands after NMC offered INR 700 million (USD 10.3 million) of additional project funding. The 11.5 MW WtE plant is planned to cost INR 3.08 billion (USD 45.3 million) and to have a treatment capacity of around 800 tpd. Essel expects plant construction to take around 2 years, as further stated by The Times of India.
