The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad has instructed heads of all departments in the civic body not to take up any new projects or float tenders as the model code of conduct (MCC) is in place for Bengaluru Teacher’s constituency elections.
The election is scheduled on October 28 while counting is on November 2. The circular has been issued to all departments including road infrastructure division, projects, storm water drain and solid waste management. “Only essential works particularly covid related works can be taken up. No other projects can be initiated during this period,” Prasad told Bangalore Mirror.
“If the tenders are already floated, do not issue work orders till the election code o conduct is lifted,” a BBMP circular reportedly states.
