No progress at Achan WtE project

In January 2018, an INR 120 crore contract to construct a 5 MW WtE plant in Achan, Kashmir, was awarded to a consortium of companies including Highland Automobiles Private Ltd., Key Stone Energy Ltd. and Astrix. Prior to this, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) ordered the construction of the respective plant to take place within 18 months. As reported by www.greaterkashmir.com, this deadline has now crossed and no progress has been made on the project. Furthermore, no power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed with the state government, which would have enabled commencement of construction works.
