No progress on WtE project in Brahmapuram

Building works on the proposed WtE plant in Brahmapuram, Kerala, have still not started. As stated by The New Indian Express, councillors have blocked any progress on the project. According to information from August 2017, the company planned to complete the construction of the facility also known as the Kochi WtE project in 18 months, although the state government had asked whether works could be finished in 12 months. When operational, the plant should have a treatment capacity of 300 tons of waste per day, generating 5 to 6 MW of electricity.
