The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has starting strictly implementing Solid Waste Management Rules in 2016. Penalties have been imposed on various residential, industrial, commercial and institutional bulk waste generators for violations.

Supertech Ecovillage 1 was fined Rs 4 lakh for not following proper bulk waste management inside the housing society. This is the second time the housing society has violated the norms. Earlier in August, a fine of Rs 2 lakh was levied on Ecovillage for violating Solid Waste Management (SWM) rules and dumping waste indiscriminately.

Legal action will be initiated if the housing society fails to deposit the fine within three working days, officials told The Times of India.
