NSWAI meets in Indore; resolves to strengthen the industry’s voice and collaborative action

The National Solid Waste Association of India met in Indore on March 17 and 18. The theme of this year’s conference was “Building the Future of Waste Management and Recycling in India.”

The conference saw leading names in the sector coming together to discuss their journeys and challenges, and chart a roadmap for strengthening the association. It witnessed the presence of sector experts, budding entrepreneurs, innovators, government representatives, and students. There were three panel discussions- Coffee with Experts, 2 technical sessions, and a breakout session which consisted of group discussions on challenges related to waste policy, people in the sector, technology, and financial and capacity constraints, that need to be addressed for the growth of the sector. 

The Chief Guest of the Conference was Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, Nitin Gadkari and the Guest of Honour was Shri Pushyamitra Bhargavji, Mayor of Indore. 

SolidWasteIndia was the official knowledge partner for the event and will be working actively with NSWAI to promote the sector’s participation as a key stakeholder in the sector.
