Pune-based company Sampurn Agri Ventures has finished the construction of a new paddy straw processing AD plant in Fazilka, Punjab. According to The Times of India, the facility is expected to produce around 3,000 MWh annually. Total investments so far amount to INR 170 million (EUR 2 million). However, the company plans to expand the facility to process around 50 tpd, compared to currently 20 tpd. Furthermore, plans include to construct 42 additional facilities in Punjab with expected INR 400 million (EUR 5 million) investments for each plant. The company has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding to supply India’s largest oil company Indian Oil Corporation with the produced biogas.
