Each of the three municipal council areas of Pilibhit will now have their own material recovery facility (MRF). The Uttar Pradesh government has reportedly allocated Rs 33 lakh for each municipal council to set up the MRF and land has been identified for the purpose.

The Times of India quotes the Pilibhit city municipal council Executive Officer Nisha Mishra as saying that dry waste will be sent to the MRF for recycling while household waste will be converted to compost.
