Plans for new AD plant at Wariana landfill

The Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar is planning to install a waste management plant at the Wariana landfill, according to Tribune India. The landfill covers around 14 acres of land and has a daily capacity of 600 tons. The plant is scheduled to convert solid waste into fertilisers and manure. The technology to be installed to generate energy is not disclosed in the source. However, as fertilisers and manure will be produced, ecoprog assumes the project to be an AD plant. Yet, no more detailed information is available on the project. The project is already facing heavy opposition by the local public.
