Plans for new C&D waste plant in Vellalore

Another C&D waste facility is being planned in Vellalore, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. The location has been chosen by Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC).

The facility should cost INR 60 million (EUR 700,000). The Tamil Nadu State Government has already granted approval. Expression of Interest for developing the facility in PPP mode should start within one month, as further reported.

As emerged in August 2022, CCMC has received funds of INR 700 million (EUR 8.7 million) under the Central Government’s Swachh Bharat Mission’s Solid Waste Management fund. As stated back then, with these funds, a C&D waste plant that should cost INR 20 million (EUR 248,000) is to be developed, amongst other facilities.
