The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has received offers from four private players to install new technology and restart operations of the decommissioned Sarasbaug biogas plant in Pune, Maharashtra.

As further reported in late September, in the coming days, the companies will present their proposals to the PMC, after which a final decision will be made. After recommissioning, the plant should process wet garden waste.

In August, PMC selected Mithras Green Technologies to restart the Vadgaon plant near Pune. In total, PMC plans to decommission 12 of its 25 biogas plants and hand them to private companies on a design-build-finance-operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.
