In Pune, Maharashtra, a plastics-to-fuel plant has been inaugurated. In 2018, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) published a tender for the construction of the plant, which was won by Pur O Fuel Pvt Ltd. The company invested INR 3.5 crore in the project. According to The Hindustan Times, the plant is able to process 4 tpd of plastic waste. According to a PMC official, the entire cost of operations for the project was incurred by the company, while PMC provided a site for the plant as well as water and electricity connections. The plant is expected to become operational within the next 4 to 5 months.
