PSPCL to revive Jalkheri biomass power station

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has initiated the revival of a 10 MW biomass power plant in Jalkheri, Punjab, which has been idle for 11 years, on renovate, operate and transfer (ROT) basis, according to The Times of India. Technical bids were opened last week. Once a lease agreement has been signed with the lowest bidder, the plant is expected to be operational within 27 months. The facility has an annual processing capacity of 80,000 tonnes of paddy straw, and was first commissioned in 1992.
