Public hearing set for Waste to Energy project in Bandhwari

A public hearing is to be held on the WtE project at the Bandhwari landfill site, Haryana. As the source further indicates, some people were also planning protests against the project on that day, reports the Times of India

According to April 2021 information, the project is due to start in October 2021 and to be up and running within 2 years. In late 2020, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and Ecogreen, a subsidiary of China Jinjiang Environment Holding Company Limited, were directed by the Chief Minister to complete the WtE project.

Although the contract was cancelled in November 2020, Ecogreen was instructed to submit its plan for landfill reclamation for the WtE plant.
