The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has agreed to review the solid waste management project in Bavdhan to ensure it does not cause environmental difficulties for the Ramnadi river, which is undergoing a riverfront development project.

Local citizens have expressed their opposition to the project. The garbage processing plant in Vanaz is being shifted to Bavdhan because the former site will be given over to the Pune Metro project.

A committee will be formed to assess the project, and concerns made by local residents, environmentalists, and elected officials will be addressed, reports The Indian Express.
