The Government of Punjab has unanimously passed a bill to renegotiate FiTs under Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in place between the public utility Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) and renewable energy generators.

Reportedly, the bill was passed as tariffs established seven to eight years ago ranging between INR 7/kWh and INR 8/kWh (EURct 8.3 to EURct 9.5) are considerably higher than current tariffs.

The list of projects to be renegotiated includes 97.5 MW worth of biomass projects.
