Ranchi Municipal Corporation terminated contract with Essel Infra

Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has now terminated the contract of the Mumbai-based Essel Infra Projects, assigned to handle door-to-door garbage collection and set up a WtE plant at Jhiri. According to The Telegraph, the municipal authorities are planning to look for a new contractor to take up the task; however, tendering will be delayed until 23 May due to the recent imposition of the “model code of conduct”. This is a set of guidelines issued to regulate political parties and candidates before any election in India. The contract with the company was terminated due to its poor performance in handling both waste collection and WtE plant establishment project.
