Realisation of Bhalswa WtE project to start soon

According to India Today, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (NMCD) has announced to be starting off with the Bhalswa WtE project soon. Under the project, a new WtE facility with an electricity generation capacity of 15 MW is expected to come up at the site of the existing dumpsite at Bhalswa. The plant will become operational between late 2019 and mid-2020. The NMCD had only recently repurchased the land on which the new facility will be built. Company Excel Industries Ltd. initially acquired the land in 1998 in order to construct a composting plant but never went through with those plans.
