An upgraded solid waste processing plant has recently been commissioned at Dadumajra in Chandigarh City, Punjab. The plant should process dry waste for conversion into RDF.

At the facility built in 2008, as further stated, existing machines were repaired and installed by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC). The plant was set up by Jai Parkash Associates Limited under a 30-year build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) contract.

The plant was taken over by the MCC in 2020 because the company had failed to provide proper maintenance works, as further indicated in the source.
