The deadline for submitting RfP documents for the Bainguinim WtE project was prolonged. According to a senior officier, this was due to requests from several bidders at the pre-bid meeting, as reported by The Times of India. The new deadline is 21 October 2021. Bids are due to be opened the next day.

The current tender is the second tender announced by the Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC). In the first tender, no bidders were qualified. In May 2021, three bidders were disqualified.

The PPP model in DBFOT mode is worth INR 2 billion (EUR 22.9 million) and is to provide recycling, sorting, segregation, biomethanation and composting. The facility is to be built and later operated for ten years by the selected concessionaire.
