Schedule set for WtE project at Pirana landfill

According to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), a schedule for the development of a WtE facility at the Pirana landfill in Ahmedabad, has been set by the state government. As reported by The Times of India, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) proposed to construct a 14.9 MW WtE plant at the landfill in January 2018, capable of processing 320,000 tonnes of waste annually and is expected to be operational by March 2020. AMC has already signed power purchase agreements for the project.
