The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is setting up an engineered sanitary landfill site on a 47.5 acre piece of land allotted by the Delhi Development Authority at Tehkhand. Work is currently underway at the site.
At an estimated cost of Rs 42.3 crore, the site will reportedly become operational by 2023.
As reported earlier on SolidWasteIndia, a waste-to-energy plant is being set up at 15 acres of land, while the engineered landfill (E-SLF) is being set up at remaining 32.5 acres, according to The Print.
