Secunderabad has acquired several ‘swachh auto tippers’ (SAT) in a bid to ramp up door-to-door waste collection. These SAT vehicles will collect municipal solid waste (MSW) across the Secunderabad Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) zone.

The Hyderabad civic body has sanctioned a total of 89 SAT vehicles and so far, 73 vehicles have been allotted to Secunderabad Zone. An additional 16 SATs will be sanctioned soon, reports The Times of India.

The GHMC is in the process of procuring advanced garbage collection, transport and treatment systems, as reported earlier by SolidWasteIndia.
