Shimla WtE plant will start operating in April

According to The Times of India, after several delays, the new WtE plant at Shimla will start its trial run of operation on March 20th 2017. Afterwards, the commercial operation is scheduled to begin on April 1st, 2017. Elephant Energy Private Limited is the operator of the plant and is set to operate the facility for the upcoming 40 years. The facility has a treatment capacity of 100 tpd of MSW and is able to generate between 1.7 MW and 2 MW of energy. Total investment so far amount to Rs 42 crores (EUR 6 million).
