SMC extends deadline for Shimla WtE project

The Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) has provided Elephant Energy Ltd, the developer of the Shimla WtE project, with more time to commission the plant, as reported by Tribune India. The original 15 December deadline was extended until March 2017. It was said that problems occurred because the WtE facility was delivered too much wet waste during the current trial operations. The Shimla WtE plant is planned to treat 70 tpd of waste to generate 2 MW of electricity.
