The current delays of the Srinangar WtE project are apparently due to differences on a Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) between the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the Power Development Department (PDD) of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Specifically, the PDD considered SMC’s proposed feed-in tariff as too high. The conflict was said to be hindering the project for 6 months. Last year, India’s national Green Tribunal recommended to develop a 4 to 5 MW project in the city. This was reported by the Kashmir Reader.
