Swiss bidding process for WtE project in Kochi

According to Waste Management World, the state government in Kochi, Kerala, has chosen the “Swiss Challenge System” of tendering for its proposed 500 tons per day WtE plant in Brahmapuram. The investment volume of the project amounts to INR 3.5 billion (USD 65 million). The Swiss Challenge System is a form of public procurement that requires a public authority in receipt of an unsolicited bid for a public project to publish the bid and invite third parties to match or exceed it.
