Tamil Nadu discusses WtE plant establishment

The Tamil Nadu state government plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) to produce electricity from waste. According to The Times of India, the NTPC plans to set up WtE plants in Coimbatore and Madurai City. A feasibility study for establishing the plant will be carried out after signing the MoU. Also a 3000 tpd incinerator plant has been planned by the state government with an undisclosed private company.
