Telangana to focus on MSW for recovery purposes

The State of Telangana is focusing on using municipal solid waste (MSW) for recovery purposes, according to recent statements by the Telangana Special Chief Secretary (Energy). However, the official did not provide information on any specific Waste to Energy projects.

As further reported, Telangana aims at adding around 3,000 MW of RE capacity over the next four to five years. 3,900 MW of the current capacity of 4,400 MW is solar power, as further stated. The remaining capacity includes projects for wind, biomass, biogas, industrial WtE as well as mini-hydro.
